BNXN Buju and Olamide Baddo collaborate on this thoughtful track titled “Modupe” (I’m Grateful). The song is from BNXN’s new EP, ‘Bad Since ’97.’
Buju explains how he created this inspirational track and secured Olamide’s dope verse.
Modupe’ means “thank you” in Yoruba. I was thinking about my journey and all the experiences I’ve had so far while recording this song, and how grateful I am for everything. I felt like [pouring] out my emotional side in thanksgiving to God for my success and everything that has happened over time. When Olamide recorded it, he told me it was the first time in a long time that he had recorded on something slow and inspirational.
