Road accident in Jigawa kills 6

In Jigawa State, there was a car accident that killed at least six people and hurt three others in different ways.

On Monday, around 11:30 a.m., a bridal escort train was involved in an accident on the Hadejia-Kano road in the Hadejia Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

In the accident, a 30-year-old man from Yalleman Quarters Kaugama LGA named Habib Habib was driving a black Lexus with the license plate number AAA 153 EA.

He was said to be going from Hadejia to Yalleman with eight people, including a bride.

In a statement released Tuesday in Dutse, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, who is the spokesman for the Jigawa State Police Command, confirmed what happened.

He said, "When they got to Gidan Sugar on their way back to Hadejia, both the back and front tires blew out, and the driver lost control." The car did a somersault.

"As soon as the police got the terrible report, they sprang into action and went to the scene. The victims were rescued and taken to the General Hospital in Hadejia right away. The bodies of those who died were given to their families so they could be buried.

He said that the state police chief, Aliyu Sale Tafida, had told the family of the dead person that he was sorry.

Adamu told drivers in the state not to overload their cars, drive too fast, use hard drugs or alcohol before driving, or drive at night.

He also told drivers to check their tires, brakes, and other important parts of their cars before going on a trip.
